On the afternoon of October 18, 2020, the 12th General Election of the MBA Union of SOB, GDUFS, was held in Conference Room 103 of MBA Education Center, School of Business. Party Committee Secretary WEI Chuanwen and Director of the MBA Education Center WANG Gang attended the meeting. Faculty members of the MBA Education Education Center, as well as the presidium of the 11th session of the MBA Union were also present at the meeting. The election was chaired by ZHANG Yixin, Vice Chairman of the 11th session of the Union.

At the beginning of the election, WEI Chuanwen delivered an opening speech. He expressed his gratitude for the work that the presidium of the 11th session of the MBA Union had done and affirmed the achievements they made in South China in the past year. At the same time, Secretary Wei stressed his expectations for the new presidium of the MBA Union, hoping that under the leadership of SOB and the MBA Education Center, they can inherit the spirit of SMILE, better serve their fellow students and alumni, and contribute to the development of the SOB.

Then came the campaign speech delivered by each candidate. Five chairman candidates delivered their campaign speeches in turn, introducing their election grounds, advantages, and work prospects. Following that was the first round of voting, and the top two candidates entered the second round, where they had a 5-minute debate. After two rounds of competition, Yang Hui from Class 2020D was elected as the Chairman of the 12th MBA Union.

During the election of the Secretary-General and Vice-Chairman, a total of 14 candidates gave campaign speeches in turn. 7 of them stood out as members of the 12th MBA Union Presidium: HUANG Gahui (20C), HUANG Xiaoyu (20B), DU Yu (20C), YANG Kaichuan (20E), LIU Chang (20B), ZHANG Zhao (20B), TIAN Shengmiao (20D).

During the voting period, XU Liheng, Chairman of the 11th session, made a work report on behalf of the 11th session on the activities held by the Union and the achievements over the past year. LIAO Litao, initiator of the "One Book, One Dream" charity project also made a brief introduction to the project.

In the end, Director Wang Gang delivered a concluding remark. He congratulated the members of the 12th Presidium, saying that the new blood is particularly important for the development of the MBA Union. He hoped that the new session of the Union will promote the unity, mutual assistance, and development of MBA, GDUFS, and strive to improve self-service and self-management. At the same time, the Union was hoped to create a platform to facilitate MBA students to participate in the development of the SOB, thereby benefiting more students. He believed that the members of the 12th session, under the leadership of Chairman Yang Hui, will better support the development of MBA along with fellow students and alumni.
