Notification on Applying for the 17th FHWS Exchange Program

With the aim to promote educational cooperation and international exchange, MBA Center, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) has reached a cooperation agreement with Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences (FHWS) to provide a unique exchange opportunity in Germany for MBA students of SOB, GDUFS. And now the 17th program can be applied.

The FHWS, which was founded in 1971, is a famous higher professional college in Germany. There are ten schools in FHWS: School of General Science, School of Architecture and Civil Engineering, School of Business Economics, School of Plastic Arts, School of Information and Economic Information, School of Materials Technology and Surveying, School of Sociology and Nursing Management, School of Electronic Technology, School of Mechanical Manufacturing and School of Economics and Engineering. There are also 22 majors of Masters from German system, Bachelors and Masters from the UK and the USA system: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Business Management, Construction Management, Electronic Technology, Electronics and Information Technology, Informatics, Information Design, Information Systems, Engineering Informatics, International Business (in Asia,Middle East or Europe), Communications Design, Mechanical Manufacturing, Materials and Plastics, Media Management, Sociology, Nursing Management, Surveying and Geo-informatics, Economics Engineering and Economic Informatics, etc. The FHWS specializes in Logistics Management, Construction Engineering, Business Management and Communication Design. 

Here is the specific cooperation plan:

1. Credit transfer method

MBA of GDUFS recognizes the credits of English speaking courses in FHWS. All the courses are considered as elective courses, except for the Operations Management, which is transfered as a core course.

2. Application requirements

 (1)Bachelor degree (having acquired certificates of undergraduate diploma and degree), applicants are required to be official students of MBA, GDUFS and have not graduated yet during the foreign exchange period. They are also supposed to have studied for more than one semester (including one semester) at the beginning of the project;

 (2).The attendance rate of each course should not be less than two thirds, and course examination (inspection) should not fail over twice (the failed makeup examination is accounted for once);

 (3).The tuition and other fees have been paid;

 (4). Applicants are healthy, mentally mature, staying away from bad habits and from violating laws and school regulations;

 (5). Applicants are skilled in English listening, speaking, reading and writing. And they have no difficulty in communication and full-English teaching.

 (6) Applicants should conform to the application requirements specified by the foreign cooperation institute.

Applicants can study at FHWS in Germany as exchange students after the registration, preliminary review and selection by SOB and FHWS.

 

Quota, duration and registration time

Quota: 3 students/Fall Semester in 2019

Exchange duration: from August of 2019 to February of 2020(specific time will be confirmed according to the curriculum arrangement in FHWS)

Application Deadline:  At 12A.M. on April 3, 2019

The application can be made on a semester base, and the minimum duration is one semester. And applicants need to apply again in advance after one semester. They also need to negotiate with the FHWS about the specific advance time.

5. Exchange Expenses

Both parties are exempt from tuition fees, and other expenses are self-funded. Exchange students do not have to pay tuition fees in FHWS, but they should pay tuition fees in MBA, GDUFS as usual. They should bear other expenses incurred in the country where the exchange college is located such as airfare, accommodation, medical insurance fee and other expenses.  

6. Special Note

 (1). Applicants should pay all the tuition fees in MBA Center, GDUFS before handing in application materials, otherwise the MBA Center is entitled to refuse issue all the required certifications.

 (2)Applicants are supposed to confirm whether they have sufficient time and energy to participate in the project before the registration. If they waive the participation for any reason after registration, the MBA Education Center of SOB has the right to cancel all the certifications of international programs they have registered in GDUFS according to the "International Project Management Regulations of SOB MBA Education Center ".  

 (3)Applicants are supposed to read the training sheme carefully and to arrange their own domestic courses. It is necessary to make sure that if they want to apply for the MBA degree of GDUFS, they should complete the compulsory courses and the corresponding elective courses, or the courses they study abroad can be converted into the above-mentioned domestic courses. Otherwise, they cannot write the dissertation and apply for the degree.
