On the morning of November 23th, Mrs. Catherine Tilley, Supervisor of the executive education and postgraduate eduaction of Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership, accompanied by Sun Zhixi, Vice Director of Organization Ministry of provincial Party committee, arrived at our university to discuss about cooperation. This is the first return visit since Vice President He Chuantian, on behalf of the “Informatization and New Industrialization” Symposium of University of Cambridge in Guangdong Province, had attended the training in British. Mrs. Tilley had received a warm reception by Vice President He Chuantian and other school leaders.

Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership is the research pioneer in this field over the world, its research mainly focuses on policy, finance and business, covering hot issues about global sustainable development, such as low-carbon economic transformation, innovation, sustainable leadership and natural capital flow. Except for the research, the Institute also works on postgraduate education, executive education and corporate participation. Through this discussion, He Chuantian and Mr. Tilley had found a lot of same concerns and many potential cooperation possibilities. Besides, take his personal experience during the training in University of Cambridge as an example, He Chuantian introduced to present school leaders about the rigorous scholarship and standard management of University of Cambridge, the world-class university, and encourage them to learn the Cambridge spirit. Mr. Tilley also spoke highly of He Chuantian and other training members. She expressed that, since China-British relations is getting increasingly close, Cambridge Institute for Sustainable Leadership is willing to create more opportunities with GDUFS and contribute to the bridge of friendship between China and British.

Then, Mrs. Tilley, accompanied by Sun Zhixi, Vice Director of Organization Ministry of provincial Party committee, Zhu Wenzhong, Executive Dean of the School of Business, Liang Jie, Associate Dean of the School of Business and Mr. Wang Xiumin, visited Guangdong Institute for International Strategies(GIIS), the library and the laboratory of MBA education center of the School of Business. Mr. Tilley gave us great credit for our hardware facilities, and had reached a series of cooperation intentions with the School of Business on building cooperation training base.

After the discussion, Mr. Tilley had lunch with He Chuantian, Sun Zhixi and other leaders of the School of Business. During lunch, Mr. Tilley not only praised profusely about Chinese food, she even went native and was like the host, using chopsticks to pick up food for people at the table.
