On March 2, 2019, Prof. YUAN Denghua and Prof. XU Yiqing, Vice Deans of the School of Business, and Prof. ZHONG Risheng, Director of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs Office, held a pre-trip meeting of the upcoming study tour with a group of 19 MBA students and alumni who would visit Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (XIME).
The Meeting
Vice Dean of School of Business Prof. XU Yiqing hosted the meeting, in which she mentioned that XIME was a prestigious business institute in India, with its specialty of entrepreneurship education. XIME and GDUFS has long established friendship cooperation and exchanges. Since 2016, MBA Education Center, GDUFS, has been entrusted to arrange 3 short-term study tours for XIME and received 110 XIME students.
As one of the founding members of Association of BRICS Business Schools (ABBS), XIME has been contributed to entrepreneurship education by providing a steady stream of competent, value-driven and globally oriented managers. In addition, the first and the second international forum of ABBS were held in XIME.
GDUFS has cooperated with XIME on international EDP Project in 2009. In order to create more exchange opportunities for MBA students and alumni, GDUFS commissioned XIME to arrange this study tour, which was the second time that GDUFS send students to visit this institute..
Mr. ZHONG elaborated issues and cautions for safety of studying abroad. He started with a brief introduction of India, with a focus on its geography, ethnicity, religion, and economy. In addition, Mr. ZHONG highlighted the safety risks and political risks of the overseas study tour, reminding them pre-trip instructions with actual examples. Finally, he stated the relevant preparation and how to deal with emergencies, mainly from the aspects of life and safety and property security.

In the end, Prof. YUAN Denghua shared his experiences of overseas business trips and participating in international conference with students. He talked about the precautions related to the study tour and how to handle unexpected events.
