Ⅰ. Introduction to The University of Queensland

Founded in 1909 by the state parliament, the University of Queensland (UQ) is one of Australia's oldest universities colloquially known as a sandstone university. As one of Australia's leading universities, UQ has been consistently ranked first for Business Administration, Mining Engineering and Life Sciences in Australasia. UQ ranks in the top 50 as measured by the QS World University Rankings and the Performance Ranking of Scientific Papers for World Universities. The University also ranks 52 in the US News Best Global Universities Rankings, 60 in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and 77 in the Academic Ranking of World Universities.

The University of Queensland is a founding member of online higher education consortium Edx, Australia's research-intensive Group of Eight, and the global Universities 21 network. The university offers associate, bachelor, master and doctoral degrees through a college, a graduate school and six faculties. Additionally, UQ offers international programs that include the Wharton Global Consulting Practicum and a joint postgraduate law program with Washington University. As Nature index top ranked research university in the southern hemisphere, UQ incorporates over one hundred research institutes and centers, such as the Boeing Research and Technology Australia Centre, the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology and the UQ Dow Centre.

Ⅱ.Introduction to the Program

In order to promote educational cooperation and international exchange, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) School of Business and the University of Queensland have reached a cooperation agreement to provide MBA students with the opportunity to study at UQ for a period of one year. Those who pass the grade will receive a master's degree in International Commercial Law (UQ). Students can apply for the MBA degree of GDUFS according to the regulations after completing the relevant courses and thesis in GDUFS.

Ⅲ. Admission Requirements

1. Applicants must be official students who have studied for at least one semester in MBA Education Center, GDUFS. The applicant’s average score should be no less than 60 points.

2. Applicants with undergraduate degrees from GDUFS or other 211 schools must have a minimum grade point average of 75; applicants with undergraduate degrees from other institutions are required to have a minimum grade point average of 80 for the Master of Business program, 85 for the Master of Commerce program, and 80 for the Master of Commercial Law program. The Master of Commercial Law program requires an undergraduate course average of at least 80. Applicants who apply for the International Business Law program are required to have at least three years of full-time (or equivalent) work experience in a field related to international business law.

3. The applicant need obtain the required English Language score: IELTS overall 6.5 (Reading 6; Writing 6; Speaking 6; Listening 6) or TOEFL iBL overall score of 87 (with a score of 21 in writing, a score of 19 in reading, speaking and listening).

4. During the study at GDUFS, applicants attendance of each course shouldn’t be less than 2/3. He/she who fails in no more than two course exams (the failure of make-up exams is counted as one course) is disqualified to apply for this program.

5. The applicant should have a good health, a mature mind, without bad habits and violation of laws, regulations and school rules.

6. All fees in GDUFS such as the tuition fees have been paid on time.

7. The applicants should meet other requirements of UQ.
