Introduction to the Missouri State University and the Program
The Missouri State University is a comprehensive public university. Degrees conferred by it like business and accounting degrees are all accredited by the world's most prestigious accreditation body for business schools, AACSB. Among over 1,700 business schools in the United States, only 10% have attained AACSB dual accreditation for business and accounting degrees. Right now, about a dozen universities in China has gotten AACSB business certification, such as Tsinghua University and China Europe International Business School. In 2002, this program was established by the former State Economic and Trade Commission and American universities, which aims to cultivate the management talents for state-owned enterprises. Participant units include the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, Shandong/Jiangsu/Shenzhen/Xiamen Provincial Government and other large-scale enterprises such as Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd., Chia Merchants Group and China Baowu Steel Group. Since 2008, some universities began to join in this project including Beijing Normal University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Communication University of China, South China University of Technology, South China Normal University, Lanzhou University, East China University of Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, etc. Up till now, more than 1,500 students have obtained degrees in this project.
