Notice on Application for the 14th Exchange Program of Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL)

In order to promote educational cooperation and international exchange, MBA Education Center of School of Business of GDUFS has reached a cooperation agreement with Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL) to provide MBA students at School of Business of GDUFS with unique opportunities for a study exchange program in Portugal.

Introduction to the ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL), Portugal

Founded in 1972, ISCTE is a national university located in the college town of Lisbon, Portugal. ISCTE is a public institution of higher education recognized by Ministry of Education of Portugal; ISCTE Business School (IBS) is one of the top business schools in Portugal.

The specific cooperation program is as follows:

   Ⅰ. Duration of the Exchange Program

Applicants should apply on a semester basis, and the minimun duration is one semester. Applicants need to apply again in advance after one semester. They need to negotiate with the partner university about how long they should apply in advance.

II. Credits Transfer(The following table is for reference, while the specific courses are subject to the update of ISCTE)

The courses (in red font) that can be transferred into the core  courses of MBA program of GDUFS upon admission in September are Marketing Management, Strategic Human Resource Management and Microeconomics, which can be transferred for 3 credits respectively. All the other courses are regarded as selective courses and can be transferred for 2 credits respectively. For more information, please visit the website It should be noted that according to the latest policy of ISCTE, the courses selected by students should belong to the same major, and some courses will be changed. The course list and credit transfer information shall be subject to the final confirmation of the MBA Center after the Center receives the updates from the partner university. The following courses and credit transfer information are for reference only.

III. Exchange Expenses

Tuition fee is waived on both universities, while all other expenses are borne by students themselves. Students who participate in the exchange program do not need to pay the tuition fee of the partner university, but need to pay the tuition fee of MBA program of GDUFS as usual, and bear other expenses incurred in the country of the partner university, such as flight tickets, accommdation, medical insurance and other expenses, etc.

IV. Application Requirements

1. Applicants shall be the official students of MBA of GDUFS and have not yet graduated during the period of the exchange program in the foreign country. In principle, at least one semester of study (including one semester) shall be completed before the the exchange program officially begins; those who have completed all the credits of MBA program of GDUFS before the start of the exchange program are not allowed to apply;

2. Attendance for each course is not less than two-thirds, and failure in the course examination  is not more than two courses (failure in make-up examination is counted as one course);

3. Tuition and other fees have been paid;

4. Applicants are healthy, mentally mature, staying away from bad habits and from violating laws and school regulations;

5. Applicants are skilled in English listening, speaking, reading and writing, and have no difficulty in communication

and full-English teaching.

6. Applicants should conform to the application requirements specified by the foreign cooperation institute.

After passing the registration, preliminary review and selection of School of Business, students will be able to study in ISCTE in Portugal.

V. Special Notes

1. Before submitting the application materials, students are required to paytuition of the MBA Center, otherwise the MBA Center has the right to refuse to issue all kinds of required certificates.

 2. Please confirm whether you have enough time and energy to participate in the program before registration. If you give up to participate for any reason after registration, the MBA Center has the right to disqualify you from all international programs while you are studying at the university in accordance with International Program Management Regulations of MBA Education Center of School of Business.

Period of Exchange: about from September 2019 to January 2020 (subject to the final course arrangement of Portugal)

Quota of Exchange: 3 persons

Attention: Please carefully read the training program to properly arrange your own courses of study in GDUFS. What needs to be clearified is that if you apply for the MBA degree in GDUFS, you must complete the required courses and corresponding selective courses, or the courses studied abroad can be transferred to the above domestic courses. Otherwise, you cannot enter the procedure of thesis writing and degree application.
