Representatives from MBA, GDUFS Participate in the 25th South China MBA Alliance Summit in Macao

From November 24 to 25, 2018, the 25th China MBA South China Alliance Summit was successfully held at the University of Macau. The Summit was hosted by the China MBA South China Alliance, sponsored by the Graduate Association of Faculty of Business Administration, University of Macau, and co-sponsored by MBA Microcircle. Nearly 100 MBA student representatives from universities in South China participated in the Summit. The MBA delegation of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies was invited to attend the Summit.

This Summit aimed to build a platform for MBA students to communicate, exchange and share. Professor HONG Fulai, Director of the MBA Project Center of the University of Macau, made a welcome speech. He introduced to the guests the construction of the new campus and MBA project of the University of Macau. After that, Ms. DANG Wenxin, President of the Council of the South China MBA Alliance, made a speech, reporting on the main achievements of the Council since the second half of 2018, as well as the visits to promote the participation of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the HSBC Business School of Peking University in the South China MBA Alliance. Then, Mr. HUANG Yong, Chairman-in-Office of the South China MBA Alliance, made a report on his work during the second half of 2018. He reviewed the work of the Alliance’s Football League, Mountaineering Festival of MBA, GDUFS, New Year Party and other activities, inter-school exchanges, enterprise visits, and recruitment new members to the Alliance.

At the same time, the Summit held the 2018 annual award ceremony of the South China MBA Alliance to honour the outstanding MBA federations and individuals. The MBA Federation of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies won the award of "Characteristic MBA Federation of South China MBA Alliance 2018" and ZHU Wenting, Vice President of GDUFS MBA Federation, won the award of "20 Up-and-coming Stars of South China MBA Alliance 2018".

Award certificates

During the Summit Forum, Professor LI Zhenguo, Vice Director of Finance and Economics Department, Faculty of Business Administration, University of Macau, delivered a speech on "Macau's Economic Situation and Development Opportunities in the Greater Bay Area". He proposed three orientations of Macau in the Greater Bay Area: world tourism and leisure center, cooperation platform for business and trade between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and exchange and cooperation fund based on “Chinese culture as the mainstream and multi-cultural co-existence as a supplement”. He also mentioned the key areas of Macau's participation in the construction of the Greater Bay Area. Then, Dr. FENG Xuenong of the University of Macau made a brilliant sharing of Macau's characteristic industrial economy in a warm interactive atmosphere.

At last, the Summit held a round table meeting of the presidents of the South China MBA Alliance, which fully reviewed the development of the characteristic activities of MBA colleges and universities and suggestions were given. It is planned to expand their influence through the joint participation of the South China MBA Alliance, so that activities of various kinds inside and outside each school could be implemented as soon as possible. ZHU Wenting, Vice President of MBA Federation of GDUFS, said that MBA, GDUFS has held special activities for many years, "Mountaineering Festival" and "Caring for Left-behind Children". ZHU invited other colleges and universities to participate in these activities together with GDUFS. 

After the summit, the South China MBA Alliance held a sailboat development activity at the Zhuhai International Maritime Culture Center in a hope that all the students, who are interested in promoting the cooperation, communication, exchange and innovation of MBA in South China, will respond to their appeal of "let's sail together" and join them.
