On the afternoon of January 13, 2019, in the early spring of a new year, leaders, teachers and international students from MBA Education Center, School of Business (SOB), GDUFS, merily gathered in the meeting room in MBA Center, looking back and looking forward. This new year meeting was specially held to strengthen communication with international students, fully understand their learning and living conditions and help them better integrate into the community in MBA Center. Present at the meeting were Zhu Wenzhong, Dean of SOB, Yuan Denghua, Associate Dean of SOB, Wang Gang, Director of MBA Education Center, Yuan Ying, Supervisor of Admission Department, Li Aiting, Supervisor of Teaching Affairs Department, Yu Qianqian, Supervisor of International Affairs Department, Zhang Chunyan, Supervisor of Student Affairs Department, Hong Yan, Supervisor of Administration Department as well as international students studying at MBA Center. The new year meeting was hosted by Professor Yuan Denghua, Associate Dean of SOB.

At first, Professor Zhu Wenzhong, Dean of SOB, delivered a speech for the new year meeting. Dean Zhu extended a warm welcome to all the international students present. He pointed out that MBA Center was equipped with excellent competence in foreign languageand cross-cultural communication. Meanwhile, MBA center encouraged students to think independently and embrace multiculture, focusing on cultivating students’ innovative spirit. Besides, MBA Center has passed AMBA accreditation, and international students were an important part of MBA students in GDUFS as they played a positive role in the development of MBA Center. He also said that leaders of SOB would provide their greatest support and care for the international students in study and life at MBA Center. At the same time, Dean Zhu hoped that international students could inherit the fine traditions of MBA Center and create a bigger and broader stage.

Then, Yuan Ying, Supervisor of Admission Department, Zhang Chunyan, Supervisor of Student Affairs Department, Li Aiting, Supervisor of Teaching Affairs Department and Yu Qianqian, Supervisor of International Affairs Department spoke in turn to detailedly introduce international features and enrollment conditions of MBA Center, characteristic student activities and scholarship matters for international students, teaching resources and requirements of MBA education as well as the international exchange programs for the international students.

Later on, Wang Gang, Director of MBA Education Center gave a speech. Director Wang reviewed the efforts and achievements of MBA Center in the past year. He said that he was very happy to see that international students could quickly integrate into the big family of MBA Center. In the future, MBA Center would further strengthen the exchange with international students, so that they could understand MBA Center’s future trend of development and activity planning in time.

The next section was the exchange and discussion part of the meeting. International students expressing their opinions actively, and leaders and teachers of SOB gave detailed answers to the questions raised by the international students and fully understood their needs in study and life in GDUFS. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm.

In the end, Professor Yuan Denghua, Associate Dean of School of Business concluded that MBA Center of GDUFS adhered to the brand positioning of “Global Vision and Cross-border Business Philosophy” in the long term, and earnestly fulfilled the mission of “Leading A New Generation of Global Managers”. He hoped that through this new year meeting, international students could have a better understanding of MBA programs of SOB and could make joint efforts to enhance the brand reputation of MBA Center while supporting the activities inthe center as always.

This new year meeting was an entirely new sort of event with profound significance, which came to a successful end among cheerful laughters. All the international students present spoke highly of the meeting and hoped that there could be more communication opportunities in their study life, so that they could participate in the development and construction of MBA programs and contribute to expanding the brand influence of MBA Center of GDUFS.
