On September 9th, 2018, the 2018 MBA Freshmen Marketing Competition was held in GDUFS (North Campus and South Campus). Organized by the MBA Education Center of the School of Business, GDUFS, the competition was the first lesson for all of the 2018 freshmen who took part in this event, signifying the start of their study in the new semester. Dean of SOB Zhu Wenzhong, CPC Secretary of SOB Li Hua, Vice Dean Yuan Denghua, Vice Dean Liang Jie, CPC Deputy Secretary Luo Haiyang, Vice Dean Ding Hao, and Director of the MBA Education Center Wang Gang visited the competition and offered advice.

According to the Director of the MBA Education Center Wang Gang, the competition was aimed to provide a practice platform for students. Real-life commercial activities, including strategy making, fund raising, supply chain management, marketing planning, on-site implementation, net income settlement and teamwork, were simulated during the competition, which stood as an excellent example of GDUFS’s principle of “learning by doing”. In addition, this competition allowed MBA students to harvest practical experience as well as providing convenience for undergraduates. The profits made during the event will be transferred to the SMILE Foundation for future work-study activities.
There was a large range of products on sale during the activity. Apart from daily necessities, dolls were also available to attract the attention of female students, and artistic products were on the market for those especially interested in literary and artistic works.
