On the afternoon of April 16th, the MBA Education Center of the School of Business was honored enough to invite Gu Pu, the Director and Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Bauing Construction Holding Group Co., Ltd. This lecture was chaired by Prof. Zhu Wenzhong, Dean of the School of Business.

First of all, General Manager Gu adopted “In the Name of People”— a popular anti-corruption drama in China recently as an introduction to put forward the core of this lecture—values. He raised three key questions: why should we promote altruism? Is there really an uncompromising conflict between self-interest and altruism? Who are qualified enough to talk about “everyone”? He mentioned that the so-called values implies what to be seized and what to be left behind. In other words, the value is the view of choice. And how to measure the value of a person, a business, and a country should be viewed from both ends: First, how the money comes and second, how the money is spent. Gu mentioned that greatness is in simplicity and “the world is shared by all” is a truth in the world. When analyzing the differences between the values of the East and West, Gu analyzed with the focus on the value of China and the United States. He said that absolute democracy and freedom does not exist in that democracy is a false proposition and it is another ideological tyranny, a new foolish religion and is just like a vampire wearing a vest. Gu always thinks that fairness and justice, mutual benefit and win-win situation is the light of human society. Fairness and justice is the greatest common divisor of the public society. Manager Gu also recognized the universality of unfair social phenomena and those people who are reluctant to reform and act against the selflessness are mentally retarded and have no brain. They are interest gainers having no understanding of the life essence at all. There was an old saying in China that "Destiny has impermanence and it only helps those having virtues. The minds of people also has impermanence and we can only heading toward goodness." He elaborated that the Communist Party of China is the only political party in the world that dared to claim no special interests.

Then, the MBA students asked General Manager Gu with questions in a proactive manner and he patiently gave his answers. Therefore, teachers and students had a useful communication and good interaction.

Finally, Wang Gang, Director of the MBA Center of the School of Business, made a concluding statement for this lecture.
