Students of MBA in the School of Business and lots of undergraduate students listened carefully to the lecture of Mr. Yang Quanxing, General Manager of Guangdong Textile Import & Export Co., Ltd., on the topic of “Supply Chain Innovation”. In the lecture, Yang had an in-depth analysis of the team formation, corporate culture construction, as well as the components of an honest supply chain innovation platform and other aspects, so as to build up the core competitiveness of enterprises.

Distinguished guests present at the lecture were He Chuantian, Vice President of GDUFS and Dean of the School of Business, Xu Zhichao, Party Secretary of the School of Business, Zhu Wenzhong, Executive Dean of the School of Business, Yuan Denghua and Liang Jie, Vice Dean of the School of Business as well as relevant guests from Guangdong Textile Import and Export Co., Ltd. This lecture was chaired by Wang Gang, Director of MBA Center of GDUFS.

Yang Quanxing talked about the concept of competition and stressed that this is not competition between enterprises and enterprises, but that in the supply chain. Trading companies are part of the supply chain and play the role of buyers and sellers at the same time. For factories, they require long-term and stable orders, timely payment and long-term profits. But for customers, they are in need of “competitive prices”, “the right quality”, “fast delivery” and value-added services.

The core competitiveness of enterprises requires teamwork and specifically speaking, managers should have a clear vision and the team a clear labor division, so as to achieve mutual complement and timely work summary. He mentioned that merely grouping the team is not enough to move to success. Therefore, he founded the “honest supply chain innovation platform”, which equals to the innovation in management, technology, quality, service, execution, environmental protection and social responsibility. He used Foxconn, MUJI and other enterprises to conduct case studies and analyze the successful enterprise operation. Foxconn set up a “technical and legal team” to register a number of patents, and also established the mold school. The Company has come out first in the industry for these reasons as well as its strong marketing team and continuous optimization of production capacity. Another case is MUJI, of which the product design concept is to meet the needs of the people and the layout of the store offers the feeling of being at home. It also provides the full range of products and this is where its competitiveness lies. At the same time, he encouraged all members of the supply chain to actively participate in these seven areas of innovation.

In the Q&A session, the audience raised some questions upon how the local companies can go global and how to prevent the loss of talents and some other issues, Yang Quanxing patiently gave his answers one by one.

In the lecture, Vice-president He Chuantian awarded him with a letter of appointment as a visiting professor. After the lecture, Yang Quanxing, accompanied by the leadership team of the School of Business paid a visit to the teaching building of MBA in GDUFS and took a group photo together.
