On December 18, with the theme of enterprise’s going out under the new situation of One Belt One Road new opening strategy proposed by President Xi Jinping, Secretary of the CPC Committee of GDUFS Sui Guangjun visited MBA Center of School of Business and gave an exciting lecture for teachers and students in Room 103 Teaching Building 9. The lecture was hosted by Executive Dean of School of Business Professor   Zhu Wenzhong.

Professor Sui Guangjun said that China has made great achievements in reform and opening up and social development in the past three decades, but China is now in a new stage of economic globalization and international friction and economic society faces with unpredictable risks and challenges. One Belt One Road new opening strategy is particularly critical to deal with risks and challenges.

When analyzing One Belt One Road strategy and combining with rich experience in survey and research, Professor Sui vividly presented the core connotation of One Belt One Road from the respective of “what is or is not One Belt One Road”. Among them, he stressed that One Belt One Road which covers 66 countries and 4.4 billion people, should not be realized as a road with starting point and finishing point from the view of physics. In order to better understand the profound significance of One Belt One Road, he, taking his experience on visiting South Africa and exchanging with South Africa think tank as an example, cited the speech of the general secretary of Xi Jinping in March 2015 at the Boao Forum: “In promoting this initiative, China will follow the principle of wide consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits. The programs of development will be open and inclusive, not exclusive.”

Then, Professor Sui showed that China must attach great importance to the promotion of Chinese roads and Chinese paradigms in the face of the main obstacle and challenge of the establishment of One Belt One Road. Otherwise, China can not get rid of the image of international workers or rural rich and can not receive respect. At the same time, combining with the status quo of Guangdong enterprises, Professor Sui put forward nine countermeasures such as “exploring port linkage and contiguous development”, “adhering to construction pattern of free ports plus special economic zone”, “exploring joint development and management of central enterprises and provincial enterprises and international famous consortium”, to deal with the challenges.

Professor Sui’s wonderful speech inspired the thought of the teachers and students. In Q & A section, he actively interacted with teachers and students, discussing some in-depth problems, such as China 's regional investment strategy, corporate foreign investment risk control and solutions to the dilemma of national strategy. The teachers and students all expressed their compliments and thanks for the Professor Sui and the lecture was successfully concluded in warm applause.
