The 11th Students Meet of Association of BRICS Business School is Held in School of Business, GDUFS

From November 15 to 17, 2019, the 11th Students Meet of Association of BRICS Business School (ABBS) was successfully held in School of Business, GDUFS. Faculty and students from schools of business of seven universities in Russia, India, and China conducted in-depth communications, involving a series of exchange activities including business debates, enterprise visits, keynote speeches and cultural exchanges.

Prof. XU Yiqing Presided Over the Opening Ceremony

 

On November 15th, Vice Dean of SOB Prof. XU Yiqing presided over the opening ceremony of the student meet, in which Dean of Graduate School Prof. YAND Li introduced GDUFS to the participants and delivered a welcome speech. Prof. Joseph Philip, President of ABBS, travelled all the way to Guangzhou to participate in this meeting. He delivered a speech at the opening ceremony in which he expressed his best wishes for this meeting a complete success. In addition, Dean of SOB ZHU Wenzhong introduced the School of Business, GDUFS to all the distinguish guests and delivered gracious speech of welcome.

 

Academic Exchange Session

 

The academic exchange session of the students meet mainly covers three aspects, including business debates, discussion on hot topics, and speeches revolving around hot topics. The academic theme of the students meet is "trade war", which is a hot issue at present. Representatives of various universities expressed their views and discussed the positive and negative impacts that trade war may bring.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Enterprise Tour 

Additionally, at the warm invitation of Guangdong Yinghao Craft Products Co., Ltd., an alumnus enterprise of GDUFS, students from various universities not only visited the exquisite export crafts, but also exchanged views with the senior managers of Yinghao Company in view of the development of the enterprise.

In the interest of providing the better exchange experiences for students from all over the world, MBA Education Center also arranged city visits for national students. Accompanied by the soft sunset in the evening, the students who finished their academic exchange visited the Canton Tower, the landmark building of Guangzhou City. The splendid tower shape and the slowly flowing Pearl River attracted the national students to take pictures one after another. They all admired the high development of China and the unique beauty of Guangzhou.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cultural Communications

 

Before the end of the meet, Prof. Joseph Philip, President of ABBS, affirmed the performance of students from various countries at the BRICS Business Education Association Students Meet and expressed his gratitude to GDUFS, the organizer of the event. At last, the students meet ended with a unique cultural performance. Students from various countries wore folk costumes to show the customs and literature of different nationalities. GDUFS students showed the guests traditional Chinese Kung Fu, Han dynasty clothing show, Guzheng performance and calligraphy, which received bursts of applause, with leaving deep impression on teachers and students from various countries.

The 11th Students Meet of Association of BRICS Business School, lasted for three days, finally came to an end. As the host, the MBA Education Center of School of Business, GDUFS helped national students return safely.

Background Information: Founded in January 2009, the Association of BRICS Business School (ABBS) aims to promote the exchange and cooperation of higher business education in Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, currently including a total of 31 governing institutions. ABBS chooses to hold the students meet in different universities in different countries every year. MBA education center of GDUFS, as one of the sponsors of ABBS, hosted the 3rd ABBS Students Meet in 2011 and won wide acclaim. By bringing together MBA students from well-known Schools of Business in BRICS countries through a series of activities, ABBS is not only beneficial to promoting mutual understanding and friendship among people of various countries, but also of far-reaching significance to promoting cooperation between Schools of Business and business circles.
