On April 16, 2021, TANG Jizong, President of Macau Institute of Management, ZHU Yi, Manager of Events and Communications Committee, Macau Management Association, FANG Runcheng, Director of Cooperation and Development Department, Macau Institute of Management, and LU Meihong, Project Manager of Macau Management Association visited School of Business, GDUFS. Dean of SOB ZHU Wenzhong, Vice Dean DING Hao and XU Yiqing, and ,Supervisor of International Affairs of the MBA Education Centre YU Qianqian, gave them a warm reception in Conference Room 402 of the MBA Education Centre, GDUFS.

 

Cooperative Exchanges Between Both Sides

 

First of all, XU Yiqing, on behalf of SOB, extended a warm welcome to the visitors. ZHU Wenzhong introduced the history, major settings, researches and international development of GDUFS and its SOB to the visitors. Being an influential university in South China, GDUFS has an edge on its foreign languages and literature, and economics and management studies. SOB has established collaborations with 46 education institutions worldwide on international projects, and the group of partner institutes was not only large in number, but also high in quality. He added that SOB was accredited by AMBA in 2015 and by EPAS in 2019, making it the third university in China to receive EPAS accreditation. ZHU then briefed the MBA program of SOB and its internationalization. Based on existing international projects, MBA Education Center of GDUFS has formed visiting study units for the first time. He suggested that the cooperation with universities in Macau, China, was in line with the country's current strategy of serving the construction of the Greater Bay Area, and looked forward to more international cooperation projects.

Afterwards, Dr. Tang Jizong gave an introduction to the Macau Management Institute from the perspective of institute structure, industry-institute-research cooperation, curriculum settings, international projects and future development. He said that, affiliated to the Macau Management Association, Macau Management Institute was armed with its strength major of Facilities Management, which has a large market demand for graduates with "two certificates after one examination". Besides, graduates of Accountancy could obtain up to nine exemptions from the ACCA.

The Meeting

The two sides then discussed the intention and content of cooperation, indicating that they would take advantages of the platform of the development of the Greater Bay Area to develop cooperation at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in terms of industry-academia research, joint teaching and talent training.
