Introduction of Short-term Academic Visit Program to The University of Central Lancashire

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is an international, multi-campus university which traces its roots back to 1828 and leads the way in modern learning today. It ranks as the top 6% in the worldwide universities according to the Centre for World University Rankings 2020-21 (CWUR).

Today, UCLan is one of the UKs largest universities with a staff and student community approaching 38,000. Their employment-focused course portfolio with over 350 undergraduate programs, nearly 200+ postgraduate courses and rich array of CPD courses means UCLan offers the skills and experience that industry needs.

Building on last year's impressive rise of 27 places, UCLan has climbed a further 5 places in the Complete University Guide 2021 and are now ranked 70th out of 130 institutions. UCLan has been awarded Silver in the UK Government’s 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Their TEF Silver rating is based on high quality teaching, excellent teaching facilities and the good careers that their graduates go on to discover.

Ⅰ. Introduction of The Program

The exchange program is 17 hours per week , including the following courses:

English for Academic Purposes:

An Academic English class covering reading, writing, listening and speaking.

UK Society and Culture:

A class designed to allow students to develop their knowledge and understanding of UK culture.

UK Academic Practices:

This class helps students to develop the skills and knowledge needed to study effectively in a UK university.

Discipline Specific Studies:

Students will attend a module in a subject related to their major in their home university.

 

Ⅱ. Application Requirements

1. Applicants and Quota:

All MBA alumni and students, all together 15-20 students.

2. Requirements for Applicants:

(1) Students who are physically healthy, mentally mature, free of undesirable habits, and have no record of violating laws, regulations or school rules.

(2) Students who have strong English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, be able to communicate smoothly and understand full English teaching.

(3) Students who can meet the application requirements set by UCLan.

3. Program Fee (The following are the 2019 program fees for reference only, the specific program fees are subject to the release of the year):

Around €4200(Subject to the actual situation)

Students are responsible for other costs incurred in the other institution's country, such as airfare, room and board, medical insurance and other expenses.

4. Duration of the Exchange Program:

12 weeks (Subject to the notice issued in the year)
