At 2:00p.m. on November 8, 2017, School of Business held a seminar on MBA education and strategy of discipline construction at the Conference Room of Administrative Building of GDUFS (South Campus). Wang Zhongming, chief manager in China of the AMBA (Association of MBAs) international accreditation organization and senior professor in liberal arts of Zhejiang University, was invited to the seminar as a distinguished guest to give guidance to the School of Business. Vice President Jiao Fangtai attended the seminar and gave a speech. Over 70 staff, MBA teachers and thesis supervisors of SOB attended the seminar. Party Secretary of SOB Li Hua presided over the seminar.
Before the seminar, Party Secretary and President of GDUFS Sui Guangjun met with Wang Zhongming. They had a further discussion about the MBA education of SOB and future development trend of the discipline and conducted extensive exchanges on such issues as the establishment of the International Silk Road Entrepreneurship Education Alliance Guangzhou Base in GDUFS and achieved an preliminary intention. Accompanied by leadership of GDUFS, Prof. Wang Zhongming also visited School of Business at both the north and the south campus.

On behalf of GDUFS, Vice President Jiao Fangtai first extended warm welcome to Prof. Wang Zhongming and then extended sincere gratitude to Prof. Wang for his guidance to SOB, especially on the quality improvement of MBA program and the process of shaping its own characteristics. Jiao Fangtai recognized the achievements of SOB that it has passed international and domestic certification and thus promoted its internationalized level.He stressed that business-related curriculum in GDUFS should take advantages of AMBA, AACSB, EPAS, CAMEA and other famous, authoritative certification systems at home and abroad to steadily promote education quality. He also hoped that the accreditation work with AMBA shall be proceeded smoothly and that, with suggestions given by Prof. Wang, all faculties should work together to help SOB scale new heights.

On behalf of SOB, Prof. Zhu Wenzhong, Dean of SOB, reported on the school’s achievements in development strategy and path, management mechanism, online course, teaching staff, teaching and research, internationalized feature, social service, brand and quality of students since SOB acquired the accreditation of AMBA. He also introduced the major challenges that SOB are confronted with and future development ideas.

After listening to the work report of Zhu Wenzhong, Prof. Wang Chongming first recognized the various kinds of achievements made by SOB over recent years. He then introduced the situation of AMBA certification schools in China and around the world and 5 networks of AMBA organization. Prof. Wang gave some suggestions on how to carry out international cooperation and exchange in this “alliance era” and illustrated that SOB should use “content” to support “extension” in its development process. In addition, Prof. Wang elaborated on how SOB can create “content” from the perspectives of strategy, team building, discipline, students, curriculum and management, with cases from home and abroad.

The speech of Prof. Wang was not only of international perspective and forward-looking, but also consistent with the realities of SOB. His humorous speech and vivid expressions interested and inspired the present teachers a lot. In the interaction session, many teachers communicated with Prof. Wang in terms of curriculum and teaching issues.
