On March 20, the nineteenth session of the GSB Team Training Serial Lectures was held in meeting room 402 of the ninth teaching building. Sun Xiaoqing, dean of GSB, delivered a lecture entitled How to Improve Execution. She used the strong execution and “no excuses” mindset of demobilized soldiers as an example, which was thought-provoking.

Dean Sun believed that three main factors affecting execution are willingness and ability to fulfill a task as well as results of the task, among which the first factor is the most important. To illustrate this point, she analyzed how the application of the “inverted triangle” management model brought about a huge change to Haier.

According to Sun, ability to fulfill a task involves planning, coordination, decision-making, execution, innovation and learning. The results of a task are determined by speed, efficiency and accuracy. Sun also shared with colleagues her own experiences and views in order to encourage them to build up various kinds of abilities.

At last, Sun introduced several famous books on execution and exchanged views with colleagues on topics they are interested in.
