“The 6th Festival of Mountain Climbing”Comes to a Successful Conclusion

On November 7th and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of GDUFS,“the 6th Festival of Mountain Climbing”came to a successful conclusion. The activity was hosted by MBA Education Center of the School of Business, organized by the MBA Association, supported by and named after Royal Brunei Airlines and sponsored by alumni from all sectors of society. Participants from the School of Business included Deputy Dean Yuan Denghua, Deputy Secretary Luo Haiyang, MBA office teachers Hong Yan, Lin Fengfeng, Liang Yan and Zhang Manling and course teachers Du Yuping and Feng Ran.The students that started their MBA program in 2013,2014 and 2015, together with GDUFS alumni, composed seven teams to attend the competition.

At 1:00 PM, participants gathered in great delight.Deputy Dean Yuan Denghua delivered a speech. He expressed his wishes to the 50th anniversary of the founding of GDUFS and approval for students’ active participation, and wished a great success for “the 6th Festival of Mountain Climbing”.Then the Class 2014B, Class 2014C and Class 2014D pledged donation of cherry trees. Deputy Secretary Luo Haiyang presented seven teams with flags and announced the official opening of “the 6th Festival of Mountain Climbing”.

“Three,two,one!”With the order of the Deputy Dean Yuan Denghua, all seven teams set off for Baiyun Mountain. MBA students, teachers and alumni of GDUFS decorated the climbing paths with the bright colors of their shirts.The tourists nearby, who were impressed by their passion and energy, also gave encouragement to the team members.

Upholding the value of the SMILE and promoting environmental protection of Baiyun Mountain, the team members set off from the MBA Education Center to the park at the mountaintop with cleaning bags in their hands.The organizing committee arranged games at Baiyun Songtao and Mingzhu Square. For a team to pass a test, all team members were required to reach a specific spot and complete a mission. The team members supported each other and enjoyed the whole competition.

After the intense competition, the 15C “Just Win” team became the winner with the highest score in the three tests. The 14AB “Fast and Furious” Team and the 13BC Team ranked second and third respectively. Deputy Dean Yuan Denghua awarded the three teams with silk banners. The Lucky Draw Session later also added excitement to the Festival. Deputy Dean Yuan Denghua expressed appreciation for all teams’ efforts. He spoke highly of students’ spirit of “never give up”and expressed wishes for the future Festival of Mountain Climbing.
